Lit For Long COVID
2026
Since 2025 we've taken up quaterbacking Lit For Long COVID (#LitForLongCovid), seeking to illuminate landmarks around the globe for Long Covid Awareness. We've had great international support helping with this initiative from individuals to organizations. The Canadian Covid Society in partnership with the Long Covid Canada Collaborative has done especially great work getting Canada to light up for Long Covid Awareness Day & Month.
We encourage people to illuminate their homes and businesses in teal and wear teal throughout the month of March, and particularly on March 15th, to stand in solidarity. You can view information and a calendar of events related to Long Covid Awareness Day & Month at International Long Covid Awareness.
As of the end of February, there are 518+ landmarks illuminating in 20 countries around the world and 35 U.S. States. A massive leap from 106 landmarks in 8 countries last year. Here is the current list of those illuminating. More sites and information to be added. You can also view those who have pledged to illuminate this year on the map listed below the pictures.
* ACTION NEEDED Currently happening, MaskTogetherAmerica, along with the support of LCF and other organizations, are pushing for Long Covid Awareness Day to be recognized and buildings illuminated in NYC. Please sign the petition.
This comes after a win for the Long Covid community in which Clean Air LA, supported by LCF and others, was able to get the City Council of Los Angeles to recognize Long Covid Awareness Day and agree to illuminate Los Angeles City Hall on March 15th.
We appreciate all those illuminating showing their support for and bringing awareness to Long COVID.

2025
For International Long Covid Awareness Day/Week/Month we undertook the task of getting building, landmarks, and other sites lit up on or around International Long Covid Awareness Day (3/15), mostly in the United States. We created a large data base of locations and contacted more than 1,000 sites. 106 known sites lit up for Long COVID in 2025 around the world, 87 in the United States. We took on this project a few weeks before March 15th, so we expect more lightnings in the years to come. There were several other groups and individuals that worked to get sites lit, outside of our own efforts.
You can view the list of locations with addresses, dates/times, and other details here. #LitForLongCovid
